What colour are mountains?
This one is green
It’s covered in pines
With no space between
The next one is brown
With patches of grey
And that one is slate
In a gravelly way
They all look much darker
In black cloudy storms
But with splashes of yellow
As spring comes and warms
They keep changing hue
With change of the weather
With blazes of purple
In June, with the heather
This one is patchworked
With pale green and brown
But amber in autumn
When dry ferns flop down
And splashes of ice
See a silver Skiddaw
As it sits in December
Awaiting the thaw
